Yes, you will need to point your domain name to the name server where you have your webhosting. So call your webhosting provider and ask them what your name servers are and write them down. After that contact godaddy to find out where to add those name servers you wrote down to point your domain to your webhosting provider.

So the Webhosting site name is Androidme(dot)com When I go to Control Panel it says Your domain isn’t pointed to our servers.
Get your server info, then update the DNS at your registrar (where your domain lives).

Chances are if Godaddy can’t resolve your problem neither can I. If after calling them you are not able to resolve your problem you can give me a call via skype. My user name is: mr.smith9720 or you can call directly at 269-312-7485. On skype we can share screens and I could log you into your FTP server to see if it shows your domain folder and that will help me out. Also what is the dot for your website? I can look it up to see if it registered properly.

I would recommend calling Godaddy as there systems may have changed since the last time I have used them. Also I believe support is free if you have one of there services. I charge for technical support over the phone. However technical support is temporarily discounted to $30/hr (regular rate $40/hr) for over the phone until the end of the year 2013 for anyone subscribed to my YouTube channel. Pricing is subject to change though and the pricing on our website is usually the most up-to-date.

Did you upload it to Internet? If it is not showing up I would recommend asking your web hosting provider for FTP details. Make sure you don’t have to upload to a special directory for your web host provider.

Not sure why that would happen. Sounds like you might have web hosting so it will be tied to your hosting account if you bought hosting. In other words the domain name comes with web hosting and not vice versa. Have you tried calling godaddy customer service?

You will be presented with a few different fields on that page for the first field type your domain dot com. Then create user name and for the directory it will auto fill that data. Lastly you will create a password. Make sure you remember user name and password as you will need this to upload your website to internet. The last thing you will need to do is forward name servers to host gator. Let me know when you have done the steps I have mentioned so far.

If you have host gator already you will need to add the domain name to your account first. To do that type yourdomaindotcom/cpanel replace “yourdomain” with your actual domain name. After that login using your website user name and password. Once logged in scroll down to section that says “domains”. Click “add domains” option.

One of the best plans to get is the baby plan from host gator because it allows you to use multiple domain names on one hosting plan. This means if you decide you want to open additional websites you don’t pay additional monthly fees. I didn’t realize I needed a video about how to do web hosting but might make a video at a later date to cover that issue. If you want extra features you can use the business plan from host gator.

I added a link to the show more description beneath this video to go to the host gator website. If you use that link it will generate a commissions and any commissions will go toward helping to develop future video tutorials. Unfortunately I can’t recommend Go Daddy for hosting but for domain names I feel they have great value.

Yes, you need web hosting. My recommendation is to get web hosting with Host Gator and forward domain name servers to Host Gator. From my experience Go Daddy has limitation in regards to their servers and/or you have to pay a lot more to get certain features. So for best flexibility you should use Host Gator. Forwarding domain name servers is just a fancy way of saying that host gator will show your website on internet but Go daddy will be where your domain name is registered.
